Hi there. It's Eric Bakker, naturopath from New Zealand, author of Candida Crusher, and the formulator of Canxida, the Canxida range of dietary supplements. You may be familiar with Canxida Remove. I've just created Canxida Restore. Canxida Restore contains seven of the best enzymes I could find for people with gut problems and yeast infections, but also small intestinal bowel overgrowth, and all kinds of gut disorders. It also contains the six best beneficial bacteria, including lactobacillus acidophilus DDS 1, which I'm going to speak about today.

The acidophilus DDS 1, the Department of Dairy Science 1, is probably one of the best researched of all the lactobacilli beneficial bacteria. Dr. Khem Shahani spent over 20 years studying this one beneficial lactobacillus, lactic acid loving, beneficial bacteria. Khem has his roots in food science. Khem studied the effect of bacteria on food many, many years ago in the US, and probably was one of the world's leading researchers in his day and probably still is today for lactobacillus acidophilus.

The DDS 1 is a human strain of beneficial bacteria. It's the only one that was awarded a patent for its resistance to antibiotics. It's probably the only lactobacillus that has a resistance to antibiotics, which is very important for you to remember if you're taking antibiotics. This is not going to be killing off or affecting this lactobacillus acidophilus. There are over 200 research papers that have been published on lactobacillus acidophilus DDS 1, so ranking it probably one of the most important of all lactobacillus acidophilus probiotics that you can take. And probably the only one you seriously want to take if you're interested in the science base of beneficial bacteria and the research that exists.

There are several reasons why lactobacillus acidophilus is so important for the body. One of the most important ones is it helps the body produce lots of B vitamins. Folic acid production, B vitamin production occurs with very good levels of lactobacillus in the stool. A three or four plus is what we would find in your stool report if you had high levels of lactobacillus acidophilus. The B vitamins are very beneficial for carbohydrate metabolism and energy production. Most people who are tired have got very low levels of lactobacillus acidophilus. Most people with cancers have got very low folate levels. By having these beneficial bacteria, you're going to dramatically reduce your chances of developing fatigue, cancers, and many different types of diseases for that reason.

Acidophilin is a type of chemical produced by these bacteria. It's a very powerful antibiotic that has been shown to be effective on over 23 different types of pathogenic bacteria alone. It's more potent than tobramycin, gentamycin; many different types of antibiotics don't even come near the strength of the acidophilin produced by these particular bacteria. Again, why would you want to take antibiotics when you can have beneficial bacteria that actually produce several types of antibiotics themselves? It's crazy. Those are two powerful reasons.

The third reason is the production of enzymes. Protease, lipase, lactase enzymes are produced by lactobacillus that helps to break down food in your gut, so you need to break it down with your teeth first, of course. The macro particles break them down to small particles and then the micro particles will get reduced to virtually nothing by bacteria that produce enzymes. You need lots of enzymes to break food down properly.

That's why when I developed Canxida Restore I put lots of enzymes in there to greatly assist in that process. I've got several enzymes that help break down different types of carbohydrates, a few that break down protein and fat, so very, very important to have lots of enzymes at the same time as the lactobacillus species when you're starting out trying to restore your gut. That product I developed is called Canxida Restore. Look out for it at Canxida.com.

  1. On the supplement front i have a few queries: .1 having adrenal issue
indicated i understand that B12 and selenium are normally considered
beneficial? 2. to aid in healing of the gut wall, L Glutamine has been
described as effective? 3 is a digestive enzyme supplement imperative in
some or all restorative processes? Thanks again!
